It’s been years now since your death, Michele, and yet I think of you every day. Your teaching standards were so high. Your deep understanding that when you taught students to write clearly, to analyze, and to appreciate literature, you were giving them a gift that no amount of money or power could match. You had your students read “Dante’s Inferno” and I would hear them talking about it. How far our standards of teaching have fallen now. But your students, adults now, will always have the gifts and insights you shared with them. Rest in Peace.

This saddens me. I had Ms. Pomerantz my senior year. I thought I would take an easy English class after being with Mrs. Riddle for AP English two years, and Mrs. Brown my freshman year…. Nope, Ms. Pomerantz worked me hard and I loved her for it. I learned so much from her. I will miss her dearly.

I remember Michelle as a little curly haired kid. Just learned about this latest tragedy to hit the Pomerantz family. Would have been there but am stunned and saddened to hear the news. Love to Marty and Michael.

You are gone from us too soon, dear friend. You touched so many lives and made them better. Your smile and enthusiasm always brightened our days, students and colleagues alike. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Michele’s family. May she rest in peace.

Michele was a classmate of my daughter, Kimberly, at Fairview North. I was a Brownie leader and then Girl Scout Leader and Michele was one of my scouts. Despite the not infrequent low blood sugar bouts which required that she get juice or sugar in her immediately , she was just like the other girls…. Fun loving, boisterous and eager to work on badges. She even went on camping trips as long as Roz could come along.
Too short a life for a kind active woman.

Michele took students who could not write a sentence and in one year taught them to write an essay. As a teacher, she was the real deal. She was the star of our English Department and a model of dedication to her students and to her vocation. She spent countless hours before and after school with students who were eager to learn. We will miss her tremendously.
